At 22 miles long, Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands and home to the capital city, George Town. We didn’t know what to expect. Captain Marvin and his crew were very nice and very helpful Marvin and his crew. They took us to see starfish which were amazing. Then we did the bioluminescent plankton which is a once in a lifetime thing. Totally recommend Captain Marvin and his crew and that adventure. Worth every penny and we’d do it again the next time we go to Cayman.

This trip with Captain Marvin was incredible. Pickup at the hotel to boarding the boat was super easy. Kevin and Michael made the trip very memorable with their knowledge conversation and advice regarding the wildlife we encountered. The trip included a trip to Starfish point, where we found starfish and jellyfish. The bioluminescent plankton was out of this world, I could’ve stayed in the water all night - incredibly beautiful. Unfortunately, it was the professional photographers birthday - so he wasn’t working, but the crew attempted to take photos with our own devices. The photographs do not do the experience justice. I would throughly recommend this trip.

Great experience, great captains, great boat! The only thing is that it is not a 2 hour excursion as advertised if coming from Kaibo, it’s 1 hr and 15 mins. It’s quite pricey for $990 (8 ppl, private charter).

The pickup was very easy to find in Kaibo and the crew were very friendly and knowledgeable. We went to starfish point and saw quite a few starfish, then to bio bay. They provided wetsuits and snorkelling gear which I highly recommend taking advantage of. My iPhone and GoPro weren't able to pick up the bioluminescence very well but they had a photographer onboard. We paid $42 USD for 11 photos and 3 videos. The only thing we didn't like was that the videos from the bio bay look very red because the boat had red lights on, you can still see the blue bioluminescence, it just doesn't quite look like the website pictures.

I have to say that this outfit was TOP NOTCH! Captain Mike was highly entertaining! Jayden could not have been more helpful or polite. And Romel did an excellent job of getting both video (I have NO idea how he kept us all straight) and still pictures of me and my friend.The pictures do NOT do this tour justice. It was overcast so the plankton were so bright...and BLUE!! The view from above the water was cool but the view underwater was indescribable! Our arms and legs were completely illuminated with EVERY movement. We took the tour with my husbands sister and her grand daughter. Its was something they wanted to do. Mosquitos were awful had no warning about them! Starfish Point was our first stop. We did the bioluminescent bay tour and had a great time. We stopped at starfish point to start and played with the starfish and saw a lobster as well. Then we went to the bioluminescent bay which was very cool. I highly recommend using a pool noodle, which they supply for you, so you conserve your energy when in the water. Jaden was great guide and made the trip fun.

The night time bioluminescence tour is a MUST! It is a quick stop to see/hold some starfish, and then over to the bioluminescent waters. If you have never seen this, definitely go. One tip: make sure you eat something before you get on the boat - the tour runs through dinnertime, so you might get hungry!

Boat ride took about 15 mins to reach fish point. We were given wet suits to wear. Water is shallow and warm. Micheal showed us how to handle the starfish so they were not hurt and is very knowledgeable. Got to pet them.. fab experience. The sun has just gone down when we reached starfish point.. colours in the sky were beautiful shades of orange.. Then it was back in the boat to get to the bio bay.. was much darker when we arrived.. stars in the sky were amazing!! The water in the bay was like getting into a warm bath.. and deeper .. we were asked not to disturb the bottom on the bay (jellyfish.. hence the wet suit)We had a snorkelling mask and flippers on. Water lights up blue with movement.. and looks like your hands are fizzing with a million bubbles..which was pretty cool.Great experience to see this natural wonder of the world.The team who looked after us were brilliant.. Went on the starfish/bio tour last night. Everything was great from start to finish and staff was very fun, kind, and helpful- from transportation to boat crew! Transporting to the dock and back to the hotel was so easy. They pick you up on a comfortable bus and drop you off after. All included in the price! Boat crew were really great at instructions all the way through the tour! Heading out to starfish point was a beautiful sundown ride! At some point, you will put on the issued zip up body covering (thinner than a wetsuit) to protect you from jellyfish when entering the water. **Be Aware- it’s nature and stings can still happen on hands/feet and our tour got a lot of them BUT, it’s rare and this happened to be one of those nights. There’s not really a way to predict the abundance but staff greatly took care of everyone with vinegar and a cream. Jellyfish are tiny so they’re not bad stings, more like an annoying mosquito bite. Our second stop was bioluminescent bay- WOW!! Do it, get your snorkel gear on (they provide) and do it! Seeing them underwater doesn’t compare to what you see from the boat, it’s incredible! Some people were afraid to get into the open bay and the staff was great with them! Only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars is because a staff member looked for jellyfish before we got in at this location and claimed to not see any but several people got back on with new stings. Our crew did warn the patrons, we’re still in the same water and wind conditions didn’t change from our previous location so, decision was ours to get in which most folks did. Overall, I still highly recommend!

Great evening trip to swim in the bioluminescence bay. If it seems a bit touristy — that’s ok! You will be glad you did it. So cool to experience this natural phenomenon. My teen daughters put their phones away and loved it. The crew (Sugar Bear, Jim-Bo, and little Max) were super friendly and knowledgable. Even if you don’t get in the water, the boat ride out at sunset on a clear night is worth it!

We did the Starfish Point and Bioluminescent Tour. It was really fun. The tour operators were very informative. The "wet suits" were more like a body suit that provided protection against jellyfish. Very easy to get on and off. Once in the water, it was a unique and fascinating experience to create the bioluminescent effect. And in the boat, it was great to see the others on the tour creating the effect in the water. I highly recommend this tour for adventurist folks.

Wonderful experience. Marvin's/|Sweetwater sports picked us up at our rented condo, as they did for several others along 7 mile beach. They were friendly and clear with instructions .It was a beautiful night to be swimming and the bioluminescence was magical. I went in a bit anxious after reading about people posting about jellyfish stings, but these guys alleviated all of those fears and the joy of experiencing nature quickly returned , reminding me why I booked the excursion in the first place. The shuttle bus driver, captain and staff were also supportive with boarding. I am having a knee replacement soon so I felt a bit unstable, and they were helpful without drawing attention. A great group of people. 10/10 .

While the crew was very friendly and helpful I would suggest that they start the tour an hour earlier to be able to see the starfish in the water . Since it was twilight we can only see 5 starfish up close. The bioluminescence part was fun. One of the crew was in the water showing g us the plankton reaction to movement. That was a treat to see. We took the Bioluminescence Snorkel Tour. After gearing up in wetsuits our boat stopped at Starfish point and we took photos with the starfish and held a jellyfish. This is at night in the dark. Afterwards we went to the Bioluminus Bay for a snorkel in the dark. You can’t see a thing in the water but if you move your arms the plankton there give off an electric light that reminds one of either laser rock or fireworks which you see through your snorkel mask. If you don’t get in the water to snorkel and move about and just remain on board you really don’t get the essence of the tour because all you see in the dark water is something that looks like sand coming off the ocean floor. The crew is wonderful-especially Segirt- known as Sugarbear. I’m glad to have had the experience but not sure it lived up to all the hype.

We used this company for a public bioluminescent and starfish tour. Our tour guides were Michael and George. It was a wonderful experience. They sent email instructions to meet at a dock; we had no trouble finding it. The parking lot was full, so we parked on the side of the road.They had us wear wet suits to avoid jellyfish stings. I had never worn a wet suit before. They were easy to put on, kept me warmer in the water than I would have been without it, and did not keep what I was wearing underneath dry, so I was glad I just had on my swimsuit underneath. Bring your own towels!They do have a toilet on the boat if needed. The starfish were neat but I was anxious the whole time about folks accidentally pulling them out of the water in the waves, especially after the guides explained that every time they get pulled above water it shortens their lifespan. I really worried that they are being abused and should be left alone in the bay! The bioluminescence part of the tour was out of this world! I can’t even explain it, you just have to see it for yourself. You HAVE to snorkel to get the full experience. They have pool noodles and life jackets; don’t be afraid to use them to help your float. Under the boat is a big arch like a tunnel, so you can get under it and see the plankton really well. Do that! I did get a jellyfish sting on my wrist, and that sucked but they had salve that helped reduce the pain and the whole thing was gone in about 24 hours. Cost was $111 US or $89CI.

Went on the bioluminescence tour which included a stop at Starfish point and the upside down jellyfish. Sugar Bear Bear and his crew were professional, polite, knowledgeable, fun and they also took pictures of you at both stops so that not only did you leave with memorable moments but also a memorable keepsake (pictures are an additional cost if you want to purchase them). They educated you at each stop, asked questions for crowd participation and made sure no starfish would be harmed. They also picked us up from our hotel which was awesome as most other tours you would need to figure out how to get to Rum Point which is about an hour from where we were staying and $120 cab ride. Thought it was a great night out at sea, educational and fun. And remember it’s only one of five places in the world where you can actually see the Bioluminescence. Also getting to see the beautiful sunset and the bright stars was the icing on the cake!

This is a great experience if you are in Cayman at the right time. I had done this a few years back, and it was something I really wanted my kids to see. The last time, I used a different company, and they took us out, even though the conditions were not ideal for seeing it. We had to swim under the boat to see it. This time was amazing. This company only does the tours when the conditions are great (only a week or 2 per month). We started at Starfish Point, and our guide took us to a different spot where there were so many starfish (the main spot only had a few). He did warn us of jellyfish and that it was a grassy bottom and we were offered suits. When we went to the bioluminescence bay, we were again warned about the jellyfish, and he suggested that we make sure to float and not try to touch the bottom or stand up because it would stir them. The glow was magnificent! The only thing that I liked about the previous tour I had done was that company gave us swim socks, gloves, and full-face snorkel masks. I felt a little uneasy at Starfish Point and even in the bioluminescence not being fully covered; however, it all was fine and I don't think anyone had any issues with the jellyfish. Overall, I highly recommend this tour and company!

Val and Alex were great guides throughout the tour! Very knowledgeable, funny, and they really seemed to enjoy what they do. We went when the moon was waxing (half) so it was pretty bright, but it was still a great experience. From booking to shuttle service to return was thoughtfully planned and executed. We booked through the Sweet Spot and Captain Marvins hosted us (we also did Stingray City with Captain Marvins and LOVED it!). Again, a great experience on a top notch boat. The boat and all of the equipment were spotlessly clean, including the nylon "wet suits" (for protection from jellyfish). The crew included Delroy (captain) and Michael. They were both so friendly, funny and helpful. Safety was their 1st priority and it was an evening cruise. We all felt super safe the whole time. We visited Starfish Point and got an education on the starfish, which is great to help protect them! Then on to the Bioluminescence portion of the trip. Amazing, so see how the water lights up and it's not scary at all. Some folks were a bit nervous but the staff made sure they were safe and comfortable. I'm a confident swimmer so Michael swam around with me to show me a few extra highlights, under the boat, different things in the water, etc. The crew really deserve all the credit for making both excursions fantastic!

As a larger person I always check for photos of the tours and for any weight restrictions. I wasn’t able to tour with a different company but I was thrilled to find Captain Marvin’s / Sweet Spot. We met up with the boat at Kaibo in Rum Point. It was super conviennent to our accommodations with ample parking. We met our Captain Sugar Bear and first mate Michael. The tour we chose included sunset at Starfish Point and the a visit to the bioluminescent bay. At Starfish Point we got into the water and waded over to visit some star fish. Michael was a wonderful guide providing educational and conservation information to everyone and helping us interact safely with the starfish (please never take them out of the water!!) Here we also got an up close and personal look at upside down jelly fish. The sunset was beautiful! We boarded the boat again and made our way to bioluminescent bay. Plankton in the water cause an amazing glow when disturbed. The amount of glow can be affected by the weather in the day/days leading up the the evening and the moonlight. You want it as dark as possible! We were incredibly lucky, the plankton gave us quite a show! From the boat the glow appears blue but when in the water it’s green. This is definitely a must do if the weather and moon is right. The crew clearly put safety of both the tourists and nature at the forefront. I’ve booked a stingray city tour with Captain Marvin’s for tomorrow! Bring tip money, these guys are worth it!!

I Highly recommend this tour. There were 4 of us that went. Three went in the water at each stop & one stayed on the boat & all had a great time. Our boat captain Sweet & deckhand Magic Mike were wonderful! Mike got in the water with us & found all of the starfish & jellyfish & explained how they were to be handled if anyone wanted to touch them. The bioluminescent bay was truly a magical experience. This company only runs the tour under optimal weather conditions meaning no bright moonlight or you wouldn’t be able to experience all of the color in the water. Both crew members were informative & entertaining. Leave a little extra time when traveling to the dock. We had some difficulty finding it.😉

THE BEST!!! My husband and I went (mid 40's) in October and the weather was perfect.Incredible, knowledgeable TOP KNOTCH crew, great boat, fun experience! Booked the bioluminescent bay tour and the starfish point and jellyfish experience - we originally only cared about the bio bar snorkel, but the other portions were so much fun too! The crew really made the experience. Calmed any nerves, answered questions, and were true marine preservationists. Bring cash for tips b.c these fellas really worked hard to ensure a safe and fun experience for the wildlife AND tourists...and earned it. 10/10 would recommend this company!

We did the bioluminescence tour which was fabulous. Started out at starfish point (didn't realize this was part of the tour!) which was fun. saw a beautiful sunset and then off to bioluminescent bay - it you don't get in to snorkel, you don't see much, but if you get in - so cool to see all that light under water just by moving! great captain and crew - Seger, Prince and George.

This Company is a sister company to Captain Marvins. A FIRST CLASS OPERATION! We booked a bioluminescence tour a month prior to our vacation with another company that had a large on line presence. 3 hours before our tour I received a phone call that the tour was cancelled and they had no availability for us prior to our leaving the island. Working with Capt Marvins and Sweetspot they were graciously able to fit us in by arranging to take a bigger boat. This was a same day booking! Wait....it only gets better! When we arrived at the boat we were greeted by Captain Sugar Bear, George and Prince! These guys were all so welcoming and friendly! Sugar was very knowledgeable with regards to the tour and took the time to educate everyone on board! It was obvious they all really loved what they were doing! Once in the water the bioluminescence was unbelievable. I've grown up around the ocean all my life and have never seen anything quite like this....it was simply amazing! The evening finished up with a beautiful boat ride back with the entire boat rocking to Capt. Sugar's playlist over the speakers! The evening could not have been better....perfect! As my son stated this was the perfect finale to our time in Grand Cayman! When we come back these guys will be our first call! Can't recommend them enough! This is what customer service is all about and these guys have it dialed!!

Swimming in a bioluminescent bay has been on my bucket list since I first learned about bioluminescence in college. While the visibility was not 100% and the bioluminescence was not able to be captured on photo/video, the experience was still magical. The crew , captain Delray, Mike, Jamari, and “stinky”, were amazing and made for such a fun night. I was hesitant about using a snorkel in pitch black, but it made the experience 100x better. Just went in early June 2023 on the dusk, night time tour, where we stopped at star fish point, upside down jelly fish, and bioluminescence bay. Was with my wife and 2 kids (9 and 11).We stayed at the Wyndham Reef Resort on the east end and it was only about 15 minute drive and you meet at the Kaibo Restaurant Dock. The boat was a littler larger and able to hold the group of us and about 25 others but it wasnt cramped or anything.It was about 5 minute drive on the boat to starfish point where they back up the boat and you get off to waist deep water and step out into about shin deep water. The guide went out and brought back about 10 different sized starfish. He gave a very knowledgable presentation about them and you could hold the jelly fish under the water. But beware - there are small jelly fish in the water and you could get stung.The next step was at the mouth of bioluminescence bay, where we docked on the shore in ankle deep water and he showed us the jelly fish that stay on the bottom but up side down and people could even hold them.The final stop was deep into bioluminescence bay where you can get off and snorkel - in the dark, and I mean dark, and splash the water to see it glow...but beware - there are lots of jelly fish, and I did get stung on my ankle and calf - but they have vinegar and cream on board and it only hurt for like 5 or 10 minutes. Friendly, personable guys and very knowledgeable about marine life and local culture. The bio bay itself was otherworldly. Impossible to describe, it is truly one of the most magnificent interactions with the natural world imaginable. We’re experienced divers and have seen many amazing things. The bioluminescence experience is absolutely amazing and Capt Marvin’s is the best. Our captain Delroy and first mate Jimbo were excellent. Delroy was so knowledgeable regarding the starfish, jelly fish and the bioluminescence bay. He also made us laugh and was funny. Jimbo made sure our experience on the boat was perfect. I can’t tell you how great this tour is. Be sure and bring a rash shirt and even pants when possible when swimming in bioluminescence bay. Might help avoid a jelly fish sting.

Sug Bear and Alex hooked us up! Three stops was a bonus with an educational stop at starfish point and to pick up jelly fish. Key to having fun… listen to Alex, he isn’t just there for entertainment he knows what he is talking about. He will teach you to respect the starfish and then how to avoid jelly fish stings. Bio bay was amazing and it is a MUST to snorkel at the bay. The water is so warm and the lighting plantain is unique. Have fun!

Great time! We made three different stops and we’re offered water. The crew ensured everyone was safe. We made a pit stop at star fish point and got to see a beautiful sunset, then stop to see jellyfish to hold and got to spend 25 minutes in the bio lime scent bay. The water was super warm even for night night.The only downside is some people got bit my tiny jelly dish at starfish point but the crew had special creams and wiped us with vinegar and everyone was fine after a few minutes . We had originally had our bio bay tour scheduled for 9 pm, but we’re called two days before asking if we’d prefer 6pm because they noticed we had a child ticket (family of 4-2 adults, one teen and one 10 year old). Our tour ended up being a sunset view at starfish point, laughs and education with jellyfish and a breathtaking experience at bio bay. Bio Bay was showing off! We didn’t get a lot of great pictures, BUT the experience was one of kind. Glowing the minute we touched the water and mating glow worms on top of the water. Our captain and 1st mate were informative, fun and kept us laughing the whole tour. It was clear they take pride in their home and we’re excited to share all we had to offer. The boat was clean, well maintained, smooth ride, and safe (motorized catamaran). We would recommend this tour over kayaks and other options (we looked at them all!). To note: We went on Good Friday. We had a great time with Delroy and George on our Bio Bay tour. They were engaging guides and gave an informative tour at each of the 3 stops. I was worried about being able to get on and off the boat due to 2 very bad knees and they assured me they would assist me so I wouldn't miss anything. As it turned out, I was able to use the boat ladders with no problem. YMMV but if you are older or have minor mobility issues you may still be able to fully participate and I'm so glad I did. A few people got stung by jellyfish on our tour but it seemed to be more annoying than painful for them and the crew had some topical medicine readily available that seemed to alleviate any discomfort pretty quickly. This was a really unique experience and one of our favorite things that we did while visiting Grand Cayman- highly recommend!

We had the most amazing bioluminescent tour with the Sweet Spot. Our captain DelRoy and Mike were amazing guides. We had a 6 and 8 year old and they felt safe the entire time. There were no issues with the kids getting stung. They even helped us get really awesome photos as they knew the correct camera settings to take good photos of the bioluminescence. The Bioluminescence Tour is amazing. Our tour guides were Devon, the captain, and Alex. They are very experienced in creatures of Bio Bay which is where the tour takes place. I did not know starfish can’t be out of water for any amount of time as they will die. Please don’t remove them from the water! This is a night tour that takes place when there is very little light. In other words, no full moon or half moon. The tour only takes place certain weeks of the month, so book as soon as you can when visiting Cayman.

Can't say enough wonderful things about the crew and the experience we had. There are other reviews on this site (we were on the same tour as them) are inaccurate. Yes- there are jelly fish in the ocean.. you may get stuck.. not sure why this was such a shock to her. I personally swam there the day prior and didn't get stuck and my husband who went in that night had no issues. HOWEVER- for those who were strung- the crew had a bottle of vinegar and ointment at the ready to assist them. The boat NEVER hit the pier but rather was expertly maneuvered into place and was a safe docking situation. The guides were nothing but helpful to us answering whatever questions we had and were great! Can't say enough good things about them (especially showing extremely kindness to someone who didn't deserve it). Yes- there are EDUCATING you about starfish and how not to continue a trend of harm to them.. not sure how teaching other about sustainability is a bad thing.
